Fashion Blogger Photoshoots with Tessa Holly
This year I’ve been shooting lots more outfit photos with Tessa Holly for her fashion & lifestyle blog. You may recognise her from my Marloes Sands and Bluestone posts from last year. She came up to visit me in Nottingham back in the spring, and then more recently we met up in Cambridge which was a very pretty little city. Here are some of my favourites from each shoot.
THE PRIMARK PLEATED SKIRT AT THE CAMELLIA HOUSE
We made sure to take full advantage of the seasonal plants by shooting amongst lots of pretty flowers at the Camellia House in Wollaton Park. This is one of my favourite locations to shoot in (when it’s open) as the light coming in through all the windows and the roof is so creamy and lovely for flattering portraits.
BLUE JEAN BABY
As well as the Camellia House, Wollaton Hall itself is great for photos – there are lots of cool staircases and plants outside the main building and it’s not usually too busy, so it’s perfect for pictures like this.
Another of my favourite locations if you’re in the Nottingham area is Sherwood Pines – it’s around a 40 minute drive from the city and it’s full of straight trees like these, which I think look awesome in photos. We went for a wander through the woods to get to this location away from the main pathways. It’s usually pretty quiet there as this area is actually part of the bike trail – so as long as you keep an eye out for speedy cyclists and are prepared to jump out of the way if someone comes hurtling towards you, then you should be fine!
THE PYJAMA WORKWEAR
For these we just found a quiet residential street – fairly simple but I think the colours and tones looked pretty with Tessa’s hair.
THE PRIMARK PINAFORE DRESS
I’ve walked past this wall a fair few times and always thought it would make a good background for portraits. I love the colours and the textures of the rough patchwork bricks and the blanket of deep green leaves draped over them – it’s quite rich and moody and great for outfits with dark colours.
THE CRUSHED VELVET SHIRT
There are bicycles everywhere in Cambridge but we thought the basket on this one was lovely and it was parked in a very photogenic way outside this cute house. INSTANT PHOTO BACKGROUNDS, PEOPLE.
I’ve collected all of the links to Tessa’s full blog posts for each outfit if you’re interested in finding out where the pieces were from. There are also a few extra photos from each shoot so if you have a favourite on here, you can click through to see more 🙂
I love working with Tessa because she has a very unique style and interesting look, and it gives us an excuse to hang out more at pretty locations. Also her hair has always turned a different colour each time I see her, so that’s fun isn’t it. Looking forward to shooting more stuff together next spring!
