Acqua Alta Promo Shoot with Nonsuch Theatre
A couple of weeks back I collaborated with Nonsuch Theatre to create a set of images for their upcoming production, ‘Acqua Alta’. It was great fun to be behind the camera again, working with other creative people to make some interesting stuff. We were able to shoot in an old building in the midst of its regeneration, so there were some great textured walls to work with, and the area was lovely and quiet. I absolutely love the rain in this first image – we were going for quite a watery theme with the umbrella and the aquatic colours, as the production is a retelling of Noah’s Ark.
I achieved this effect using one studio light on the right, and a reflector on the left to bounce a little extra light back into the shadows. I shot on my 5Dmii with 24-105 L lens, and then manipulated the colours in post-production. Edward (the actor in the images) sorted out the make-up, costume and props, and once we brought everything together, the images turned out really well! These are some of my favourites to date (and I have taken a lot of photos..)
Let me know what you think, and as always, if any of you creative people out there want to collaborate on a project, I would be more than happy to hear from you! Just drop me a message 🙂
